Yes. FORTE MK2 speakers feature both a dedicated PHONO input and a standard AUX input, making them compatible with virtually any turntable - no additional equipment required. Q: How do I connect my phone to the speakers via Bluetooth?

Q: How do I use AirPlay2, Spotify Connect and Google Cast?

First step is to connect the speakers to your Wi-Fi network: Download the DTS Play-Fi app on your phone or tablet. Follow the in-app setup instructions to connect the speakers to your Wi-Fi network. Once connected, the speakers will be available as a playback device for AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and Google Cast. Digital precision

FORTE MK2 utilizes a fully digital amplifier with digital modulation. Digital sources are kept fully digital from input to output stage, ensuring there is no noise or loss in the signal path. All low-res sources are upsampled to 32-bit/96 kHz – and high-res sources up to 96 kHz are not downsampled.

The amplifier also includes a high-performance digital sound processing (DSP) with active crossover, the mid/bass woofers and tweeters have their own dedicated amplifier. A custom-engineered bass driver delivers class-leading performance with ultra-low distortion in the critical midrange. All of this is housed in a stylish cabinet that has been designed using advanced computer models, featuring an acoustic flow resistor between the two woofers, which eliminates standing wave resonances. Combined with careful tuning and consideration the result is an open and crisp soundstage with well-defined bass that delivers punch no matter the volume.

A stereo system built into your speaker

FORTE MK2 sports an HDMI ARC input, which means you can finally throw away that cheap plastic soundbar underneath your TV and get some real stereo sound, without compromising on ease of use. Just connect your FORTE MK2 speakers with an HDMI cable to your TVs HDMI ARC output, and you’re good to go! Now you get real hi-fi sound losslessly transferred from your TV, the speakers will automatically turn on and off with the TV, and you can even use your TV remote to control the volume of the speakers – it’s that easy.

Of course, there’s also the Bluetooth connection if you just want to listen to some sweet tunes. Just pair your phone, your tablet, or any other device, and you’re good to go. The high-quality Bluetooth aptX HD connection gives you impressive clarity; it’s basically as good as CD quality. There are also a couple of plug-and-play ports for your record player, an external streamer, or whatever you want. Speaker- and power cables are included in the box – all you need to do is find a power outlet.

Der Kauf inkl. Versand war absolut problemfrei und somit also sehr gut. Auch die Lautsprecher machen einen wertigen Eindruck und sehen wirklich gut aus. Allerdings beim wichtigsten Merkmal, nämlich dem Klang, passt es für mich nicht so ganz. Mir fehlt ein wenig die Brillanz in den Höhen und auch den Bass kenne ich aus ähnlich großen Lautsprechern mit etwas mehr Punch. Schade, daß es keine Möglichkeit gibt, am Lautsprecher direkt einige Einstellungen zu machen. Auch ist der HDMI Arc Anschluss ist viel zu leise. Man muss den TV z.b. extrem laut stellen, damit überhaupt etwas aus den forte a5 kommt.

Can I connect a turntable directly to the speakers?

Yes. FORTE MK2 speakers feature both a dedicated PHONO input and a standard AUX input, making them compatible with virtually any turntable - no additional equipment required.

Choose the correct input depending on your turntable:

Turntable without a built-in phono preamplifier (RIAA) → Connect it directly to the PHONO input.
Turntable with a built-in phono preamplifier (RIAA) → Set the turntable to RIAA ON (or LINE) and connect it to the AUX input.

Recommended settings for Argon Audio turntables

TT-3 and TT SIGNATURE: Connect to the PHONO input.

Can I connect these speakers to my TV?

Yes. FORTE MK2 speakers are an excellent alternative to a soundbar, delivering true stereo sound with a wider soundstage and more natural audio for movies, TV shows, music, and gaming.

Simply connect your TV using HDMI ARC, and the speakers will automatically turn on and off with your TV. You can also control the volume using your TV remote, giving you the same everyday convenience as a soundbar—combined with the superior sound quality of a dedicated stereo speaker system.

To ensure proper audio playback, set your TV's digital audio output to PCM (Stereo). FORTE MK2 speakers are designed for two-channel audio and do not support Dolby Digital, DTS, or other surround sound formats. If your TV is set to output one of these formats, you may experience no sound or other audio issues.

Can I connect a subwoofer to these speakers?

Yes. FORTE MK2 speakers feature a dedicated SUB OUT connection, making it easy to add an active subwoofer for deeper, more powerful bass and an even more immersive listening experience.

For the simplest setup, we recommend the FORTE Subwoofer Connect Kit, which includes everything you need to connect your speakers to a compatible subwoofer quickly and easily.

Can I stream music via Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, AirPlay, Google Cast, or Spotify Connect?

FORTE MK2 supports Bluetooth 5.0 with the SBC codec, making it easy to stream music wirelessly from your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

If you're looking for Wi-Fi streaming with AirPlay 2, Google Cast, or Spotify Connect, you have two great options:

Add an Argon Audio SOLO streamer via the AUX input to upgrade your FENRIS speakers with modern Wi-Fi streaming features.
Choose the FORTE WIFI series, which has AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and Spotify Connect built in for a seamless wireless experience.

If Bluetooth streaming is all you need, FENRIS provides a simple, reliable, and high-quality wireless solution.

How do I connect my phone to the speakers via Bluetooth?

Turn on the speakers.
Press the BT button to go to the Bluetooth input.
Press and hold the PAIRING button on the remote for about 3 seconds, until the LED starts blinking. The speakers are now in pairing mode.
Open the Bluetooth settings on your device.
Select ARGON FORTE MK2 from the list of available devices.6. Tap Pair. When connected, the speaker's LED will turn solid blue.

How do I use AirPlay2, Spotify Connect and Google Cast?

First step is to connect the speakers to your Wi-Fi network:

Download the DTS Play-Fi app on your phone or tablet.
Follow the in-app setup instructions to connect the speakers to your Wi-Fi network.
Once connected, the speakers will be available as a playback device for AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and Google Cast. Before first use, make sure the speakers are updated to the latest firmware through the Play-Fi app.

What are active speakers?

At Argon Audio, active speakers are designed to deliver true hi-fi sound without the complexity of a traditional separates system.

Unlike passive speakers, which require an external amplifier, our active speakers have the amplifier built in. This allows you to connect sources such as a TV, turntable, smartphone, computer, or streamer directly to the speakers for a simple, space-saving setup.

Because the amplifier, drivers, crossover, and DSP (Digital Signal Processing) are all designed and tuned together, every component works in perfect harmony. What is the difference between active and passive speakers?

The main difference is that active speakers have a built-in amplifier, while passive speakers require an external amplifier to power them.

At Argon Audio, our FENRIS, FORTE, and STUDIE 3 series are active speakers. They combine the amplifier, drivers, crossover, and DSP (Digital Signal Processing) into a single, carefully tuned system. Because every component is designed to work together, the amplifier is perfectly matched to the drivers, resulting in optimized performance, excellent sound quality, and a simple plug-and-play setup.

Active speakers can be connected directly to sources such as TVs, turntables, smartphones, computers, streamers, and CD players, eliminating the need for a separate amplifier and reducing both clutter and setup time.

Our FORUS series consists of passive speakers. These speakers require an external amplifier or AV receiver to provide power and manage audio sources. This approach offers greater flexibility, allowing you to choose, upgrade, or replace your amplifier independently as your system evolves.

For stereo music systems, FORUS speakers pair perfectly with stereo amplifiers such as the SA1 MK2 or SA2. If you're planning to build a home cinema system with surround sound (5.1, 7.1, or more), you'll need a compatible AV receiver instead of a stereo amplifier.

Which should you choose?

If you're looking for the simplest, smartest all-in-one solution with exceptional sound quality and minimal setup, active speakers are the ideal choice. If you prefer maximum flexibility, enjoy upgrading individual components, or plan to build a surround sound home cinema system, passive speakers may be the better fit.

What is the difference between bookshelf and floorstanding speakers?

The main differences are size, bass performance, and output capability.

The FORTE A4 MK2 and A5 MK2 are bookshelf speakers with one woofer and one tweeter. The A5 MK2 features a larger woofer, providing deeper bass and greater output than the A4 MK2.

The FORTE A55 MK2 is a floorstanding speaker with two woofers and one tweeter. This configuration allows it to move more air, resulting in deeper bass, greater dynamic headroom, and a larger, more effortless sound.

All FORTE MK2 models share the same features and connectivity. The ideal choice depends on your room size and listening preferences.

Can I add more speakers to my pair of active speakers?

No. Our active speaker systems are designed as dedicated stereo pairs, consisting of one left and one right speaker.

They do not support adding additional speakers for surround sound, multi-channel audio, or expanding the stereo setup. If you are looking for a simple and high-quality two-channel listening experience, active stereo speakers are an excellent choice.

How far should the speakers be placed from the wall?

As a general rule, we recommend placing your speakers 10–30 cm (4–12 inches) from the rear wall. This usually provides a good balance between bass performance, soundstage, and clarity.

Placing speakers closer to the wall will typically increase bass output, while moving them further into the room can improve imaging and reduce bass coloration.

The ideal distance depends on the speaker model, room acoustics, and your personal preferences. If possible, experiment with different positions to find the sound that works best in your room.

Do I need a separate amplifier or receiver?

No. That's the whole point of active speakers - FENRIS, FORTE MK2, FORTE WIFI, and STUDIE 3 all have amplification built in, so you can connect your TV, turntable, phone, or computer directly with no separate amplifier required.

That means a smaller footprint, one less box to buy, and fewer cables to manage, without compromising on sound quality.
