Yes. STUDIE 3 speakers feature a standard AUX input, allowing you to connect a turntable with a built-in phono preamp (RIAA).

If your turntable does not have a built-in phono preamp, you will need an external phono preamp between the turntable and the speakers.

Once the signal has been amplified by a built-in or external phono preamp, simply connect the turntable to the AUX input on the speakers.

No. STUDIE 3 speakers do not feature a built-in phono preamp (RIAA) and do not have a PHONO input.

To connect a turntable, you will need either a turntable with a built-in phono preamp or an external phono preamp connected between the turntable and the speakers. Once the signal has been amplified, simply connect it to the AUX input on the speakers.

Since STUDIE 3 doesn't have a PHONO input, you'll need an external phono preamp between the turntable and the AUX input unless your turntable already has one built in.

Yes. STUDIE 3 speakers can be connected to your TV using the optical input, providing a simple and reliable digital audio connection with excellent sound quality.

Unlike HDMI ARC, an optical connection does not support automatic power on/off or volume control via your TV remote. You'll control the speaker volume using the included remote or the controls on the speakers.

To ensure proper audio playback, set your TV's digital audio output to PCM (Stereo). STUDIE 3 speakers are designed for two-channel audio and do not support Dolby Digital, DTS, or other surround sound formats. If your TV is set to output one of these formats, you may experience no sound or other audio issues.

Setting your TV to PCM (Stereo) ensures that the audio signal is converted into a compatible two-channel format that the speakers can process correctly.

Yes. STUDIE 3 speakers feature a dedicated SUB OUT connection, making it easy to add an active subwoofer for deeper, more powerful bass and a more immersive listening experience.

Simply connect your subwoofer to the SUB OUT output using a standard RCA subwoofer cable. The speakers will automatically send the low-frequency signal to the subwoofer, ensuring seamless integration with your audio system.

STUDIE 3 supports Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD and AAC, making it easy to stream high-quality audio wirelessly from your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Designed primarily for desktop and nearfield listening, STUDIE 3 is an excellent choice for PCs, gaming setups, and home offices.

If you're looking for additional connectivity for a living room setup - including HDMI ARC for TV audio, turntables, CD players, or other wired sources - we recommend the FENRIS or FORTE series. If you also want built-in AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and Spotify Connect, FORTE WIFI is the ideal choice.

1. Turn on the speakers.
2. Press the BT button to go to the Bluetooth input.
3. Press and hold the PAIRING button on the remote for about 3 seconds, until the LED starts blinking. The speakers are now in pairing mode.
4. Open the Bluetooth settings on your device.
5. Select ARGON STUDIE 3 from the list of available devices.
6. Tap Pair. When connected, the speaker's LED will turn solid blue.

At Argon Audio, active speakers are designed to deliver true hi-fi sound without the complexity of a traditional separates system.

Unlike passive speakers, which require an external amplifier, our active speakers have the amplifier built in. This allows you to connect sources such as a TV, turntable, smartphone, computer, or streamer directly to the speakers for a simple, space-saving setup.

Because the amplifier, drivers, crossover, and DSP (Digital Signal Processing) are all designed and tuned together, every component works in perfect harmony. The amplifier is precisely matched to the drivers, allowing us to optimize the sound, improve efficiency, and ensure consistent performance across the entire frequency range.

Depending on the model, Argon Audio active speakers also include features such as HDMI ARC, Bluetooth, built-in phono preamplifiers (RIAA), and Wi-Fi streaming, making them an ideal all-in-one solution for music, TV, gaming, and vinyl.

The main differences are size, bass performance, and output capability.

The FENRIS A4 and A5 are bookshelf speakers featuring a 2-way design with one woofer and one tweeter. The A5 uses a larger woofer, allowing it to deliver deeper bass and higher output than the A4.

The FENRIS A55 is a floorstanding speaker featuring two woofers and one tweeter. The additional woofer and larger cabinet help it produce deeper bass, greater dynamics, and higher volume levels, making it particularly well suited for larger rooms.

All three models offer the same connectivity and features. The best choice depends on your room size, available space, and how much bass and output you want.

STUDIE 3 is a compact desktop speaker system designed for nearfield listening rather than traditional bookshelf or floorstanding speaker applications.

Compared to larger bookshelf and floorstanding speakers, STUDIE 3 is optimized for use on a desk, where you sit close to the speakers. This allows it to deliver detailed, accurate sound while taking up minimal space.

If you are looking for speakers for a living room, TV setup, or larger listening room, bookshelf and floorstanding models such as those in the FENRIS or FORTE series may be a better fit. If your primary use is a PC, gaming setup, or home office, STUDIE 3 is designed specifically for that purpose.

No. Our active speaker systems are designed as dedicated stereo pairs, consisting of one left and one right speaker.

They do not support adding additional speakers for surround sound, multi-channel audio, or expanding the stereo setup. If you are looking for a simple and high-quality two-channel listening experience, active stereo speakers are an excellent choice.

Since STUDIE 3 speakers are designed primarily for desktop and nearfield listening, they are typically placed on a desk rather than in a traditional hi-fi setup.

As a starting point, we recommend placing them at least 10–20 cm (4–8 inches) from the rear wall. This helps maintain a good balance between bass performance and clarity.

Placing the speakers closer to the wall will generally increase bass output, while moving them further away can result in a cleaner and more balanced sound.

For the best stereo imaging, position the speakers at ear level and angle them slightly towards your listening position. Small adjustments can make a noticeable difference, so feel free to experiment to find the setup that works best for your desk and room.

No. That's the whole point of active speakers - FENRIS, FORTE MK2, FORTE WIFI, and STUDIE 3 all have amplification built in, so you can connect your TV, turntable, phone, or computer directly with no separate amplifier required.

That means a smaller footprint, one less box to buy, and fewer cables to manage, without compromising on sound quality.

A subwoofer is not essential, but it can significantly enhance your listening experience by adding deeper, more powerful bass.

Most bookshelf speakers are not designed to reproduce the lowest frequencies, as their compact cabinets and smaller drivers limit deep bass performance. A subwoofer is specifically designed to handle these low frequencies, allowing your speakers to focus on mids and highs for a cleaner, more balanced sound.

For music, a subwoofer adds depth and impact. For movies and TV, it brings low-frequency effects and soundtracks to life. If you enjoy bass-rich music, home cinema, or simply want a fuller sound, a subwoofer is a worthwhile upgrade. If you mainly listen at lower volumes or in a small room, your speakers may already provide enough bass on their own.

The ideal subwoofer size depends on your room size, listening habits, and how much bass you want.

6-inch subwoofers are best suited for smaller rooms, desktop setups, bedrooms, or listeners who want a subtle bass enhancement.

8-inch subwoofers offer a great balance of depth and control, making them a popular choice for most living rooms and music systems.

10-inch subwoofers provide deeper bass and higher output, making them ideal for larger rooms, home cinema setups, and bass-heavy music.

12-inch subwoofers are best for large spaces and demanding home cinema systems, delivering powerful, room-filling bass and excellent low-frequency extension.

Keep in mind that a larger subwoofer does not necessarily mean louder bass. Larger drivers can reproduce deeper frequencies more effortlessly and with less distortion, resulting in cleaner and more controlled bass.

Most active subwoofers can be connected directly to an amplifier using a dedicated SUB OUT, PRE OUT, or LFE output. This is the recommended connection method for the best performance and easiest setup.

Our subwoofers are designed to work with line-level connections and do not support direct speaker-level (high-level) connections via standard speaker cables. Our Berlin Subwoofer series also offers XLR-inputs for the use with higher end amplifiers and processors. Before purchasing, make sure your amplifier has a compatible subwoofer or preamp output.

Always refer to the product manuals for detailed connection instructions and compatibility information.

To connect a subwoofer to Argon Audio active speakers, the recommended cables depend on the speaker model.

For FENRIS speakers, we recommend the FENRIS Subwoofer Connect Kit

For FORTE (MK2 and WIFI) speakers, we recommend the FORTE Subwoofer Connect Kit

These kits include the cables needed for a simple and reliable connection between your speakers and subwoofer.

If you have any questions about compatibility or setup, feel free to contact our customer support team at support@argonaudio.com.

Subwoofer placement can have a significant impact on bass performance. In most rooms, placing the subwoofer near the front of the room, close to your speakers, will provide the best integration and overall sound.

For maximum bass output, placing the subwoofer closer to a wall or in a corner can be effective. However, this may also result in bass that sounds too strong or uneven in some rooms.

Because every room is different, we recommend experimenting with different positions to find the best balance of depth, impact, and accuracy. Small adjustments in placement can often make a surprisingly large difference.

The ideal crossover frequency depends on your speakers. As a general rule, start by setting the crossover around 10–20 Hz above your speakers' lowest rated frequency response.

For most bookshelf speakers, a crossover setting between 70 and 100 Hz works well. Larger floorstanding speakers can often be crossed over lower, typically between 50 and 80 Hz.

The goal is to create a seamless transition between the speakers and subwoofer, so you should not be able to tell where the bass is coming from. If the bass sounds boomy or easy to locate, try lowering the crossover frequency. If the sound lacks warmth or impact, try increasing it slightly.

For the Berlin Subwoofer series we introduced the Speaker Match technology, that helps optimizing the sound of the crossover region. Please follow the Berlin Subwoofers manual for the optimal settings.

A subwoofer can improve both music and movie listening.

For music, a subwoofer reproduces the deepest bass frequencies that many speakers, especially bookshelf speakers, cannot reach. This adds greater depth, detail, and realism to everything from electronic music and hip-hop to rock, jazz, and classical recordings.

For movies and TV, a subwoofer handles low-frequency effects, adding the impact and immersion that make action scenes and soundtracks more exciting. Most movies mixed in 5.1 surround sound or higher include a dedicated LFE (Low-Frequency Effects) channel specifically designed for a subwoofer.

When properly integrated, a good subwoofer does more than add extra bass. It creates a fuller, more balanced sound and allows your speakers to perform more effortlessly.

Start by setting the subwoofer volume to around 50% and adjust from there while listening to familiar music or movies. The goal is for the bass to blend naturally with your speakers, not overpower them.

The phase control helps the subwoofer work in sync with your speakers. Start with the phase set to 0°. If the bass sounds weak or lacks impact at your listening position, switch to 180° and choose the setting that delivers the fullest and most balanced bass.

Small adjustments to both volume and phase can make a noticeable difference, so take your time and fine-tune the settings to suit your room and system.
